Langkawi officially known as the Jewel of Kedah is a district and an archipelago of 99 islands in the Andaman Sea 30 Km off the mainland coast of Northwestern Malaysia. In 2007, UNESCO declared Langkawi as one of the 64 globally recognized Geoparks.
